On Obsession, Perfection, and Getting It Wrong
We're obsessed with curating the perfect moment. Editing out anything that doesn't fit, retaking until it looks the way we imagined it. This project has been the opposite of that, refreshing, honestly.
Getting a roll back and seeing the light leak, the blur, the grain, proof the moment actually happened, not proof it was staged to look like it did. That's been the real insight for me.
Doing your best in the moment and letting go of the need to perfect it after the fact. Effort is the currency. Not control, not perfection. Just doing the thing.
This isn't for everyone, and that's fine. For me it's as much a creative endeavour as it is a learning one.
Less a postcard of a place, more a prompt: come back to the moment you’re in. For thoes drawn to calm, simplicity.
One exposure. No safety net. Film rewards attention, the grain, blur, imbalance and all.
